Recently I noticed the Application Event Log of one of our internal SharePoint servers filling up with 6482 errors. Another added irritance was that the Web Sites treeview in IIS would not open, instead giving an error "The path specified cannot be used at this time." 

The solution that worked for me was to Restart the Windows SharePoint Services Timer service. After that, the errors ceased and IIS functionality was restored!
